Each year, OAR – Overseas Americans Remember - hosts a wonderful non-denominational Thanksgiving Ceremony at the Pieterskerk in Leiden, where our Pilgrim story began.

AWC members interested in attending this service together will meet at Starbucks in Den Haag Centraal Station, at 9.45 a.m. (exact time TBD), to travel to Leiden Centraal station by train (bring your OV chipcard).

In Leiden the group walks from the station to the Pieterskerk to listen to the Thanksgiving ceremony.

The church opens at 10.00 am, the ceremony starts at 11.00 am. The church will be rather crowded, so we will not be able to sit together as a bigger group. We will be early enough to make sure you find a nice spot in the church to see and hear everything conveniently.

Directly after the ceremony, we make a group photo (gather at the back of the pulpit).

Lunch: After the ceremony we will walk to Koetshuis De Burcht to have lunch (at own expense). This restaurant sits at the base of a historic castle ruin built in the 11th century. It was a coach house from 1657 until being opened as a restaurant in 1981. http://www.koetshuisdeburcht.nl/

RSVP is required by Tuesday, Nov. 23.

Ceremony is free.  Lunch is at own expense.
