AWC and the Arts is trying to arrange a guided tour of The Depot on Feb. 23 at 12 p.m. for a group size of 12. Registration will open on Monday, Jan. 31. There must be 6 registered members by Friday, Feb. 4. No cancellations or refunds after registration. The tour price is €16 plus the museum entrance fee (to be paid separately to museum or Free with Museum Card).
On November 5th a world premiere took place in Rotterdam: the opening of the Depot, the world's first publicly accessible museum art storage facility where visitors can have a glimpse behind the scenes of the museum world and make the whole art collection accessible to the public. The reflective round volume, sometimes described as a cup or bowl features exhibit halls, a rooftop garden and restaurant in addition to an enormous amount of storage space for art and design. It is also possible to experience what maintaining and caring for an invaluable art collection actually entails by observing conservation and restoration processes.
