Don’t let spring in South Holland go by without experiencing the beauty of the striations of color in the tulip fields by bike. Melissa Rider will be your guide on this leisurely tour through the tulip fields surrounding the Keukenhof Gardens. There are 3 different dates from which to choose: Wed., April 12, Fri., April 21, and Tues., April 25, so please RSVP for one of these dates.
We will meet at the Leiden Centraal station where the group will catch the special Keukenhof bus (a direct 25 minute bus ride). The van Dam Bike Rental is located in the front parking lot of the Keukenhof Gardens, so that will be the start and end point of our day’s adventure. For only €16, we’ll have the bikes all day, though the expectation is to be back at Leiden Centraal by 3-4 p.m. The route includes several loops through the tulip fields surrounding the Keukenhof Gardens, so the tour length can be adjusted to your particular time frame. The main route will be to do 3 loops totaling ~30 km, but done over a 5-6 hour time period with plenty of breaks for photos and lunch. Please bring a small backpack to carry your water bottle and snacks. Lunch at your own expense will be at a restaurant along the way. Dress appropriately for the weather. The trip will only be cancelled if heavy rain or strong winds are in the forecast.

Time:
Option 1: Meet at Leiden Centraal at 8:40 a.m. to catch the 8:57 a.m. Keukenhof Express bus#854. Please arrive at a minimum 15-20 minutes prior to the bus departure time to ensure a spot on the bus. Return around 3-4 p.m. to Leiden Centraal.
Option 2: Meet at van Dam Bike Rental at 9:30 a.m. There is paid parking for those arriving at Keukenhof Gardens by car, but the parking pass must be acquired online. Please allow for walking time to the bike rental location which is at the far end of the parking lot opposite the front entrance of Keukenhof Gardens. Sometimes cars must park behind the Keukenhof, so it will be ~1 km walk to bike rental from there.
