Join Bloom for a private guided tour of De Tulperij! Daan Jansze is a third-generation bulb farmer in the heart of the Bollenstreek. We will begin our visit learning about the difference between a bulb and a tuber along with the process Daan's family uses to harvest and store their bulbs. Then they will take us into their magnificent dahlia show garden where we will learn about some of the different varieties growing there. The tour will last about an hour. Afterwards, we can explore the 600 varieties of dahlias in the garden, have a coffee or tea and dessert in their lovely cafe, and even have the opportunity to pick our own dahlias in their picking garden. For those already thinking of spring, bulbs will be available for purchase as well.
The tour will begin promptly at 10:30, so meet near the entrance around 10:15. De Tulperij is not easily accessible by public transportation. Anyone wishing to carpool from The Hague can meet at the clubhouse at 9:30. Carpooling is highly recommended as the parking lot isn't large and the show garden and cafe/gift shop are open to the public.
Food and drinks, as well as bulbs and fresh dahlias, are at your own expense.
