Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

and AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

training course - total 4 hours in-class

About the course
You hope you never experience it; a resuscitation. Still, it's nice to know what you can do in an emergency. Especially because every second counts in the event of unconsciousness or cardiac arrest. The sooner you dare to take action, the greater the chance that the victim will survive. In this course you will learn valuable, life-saving actions. You will practice under the guidance of a Red Cross instructor. Emergency situations are simulated where you learn different techniques such as chest compressions and ventilation. You also practice with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

This course suits you if:

  • You want to learn how to resuscitate an adult
  • You want to learn how an automated external defibrillator (AED) works
  • You want to practice on a resuscitation manikin in practical emergency situations.

What are you going to learn?

You will learn how to bring someone to safety, how to assess the situation, which emergency services to alert and how to provide first aid for:

✓ cardiac arrest: resuscitation and use of AED
✓ unconsciousness with breathing
✓ unconsciousness without breathing
✓ choking (airway obstruction).

During this course you will learn how to best act with adults. Would you also like to learn how resuscitation works for babies and children? Then register for the Resuscitation and AED Course for babies, children and adults (classroom) .

What can you expect?
Practice - 4 hours
You will always receive lessons from a certified instructor. The explanation is interactive . The instructor demonstrates the actions per topic.  Then you get to work yourself, so that you master the right skills. Real emergency situations are simulated, so you practice extensively with a CPR dummy and an AED. You will receive guidance, tips & tricks and can ask all your questions. Where and when?

What will you receive afterwards?

  • If successful: European recognized Red Cross resuscitation certificate (valid for 2 years)
  • First Aid course book as a reference work.

Will my health insurer reimburse this course?

That depends on your health insurer and any additional health insurance. Unfortunately, prevention courses are not reimbursed by basic insurance. From the supplementary insurance often yes. View our overview of reimbursements per health insurer and (supplementary) policy or contact your health insurer directly.
