Join Bloom! members on Wednesday, April 3, as we discover "The Flora of Amsterdam" through visits to The Amsterdam Tulip Museum, nestled in the historic Jordaan neighborhood, and The Hash Marihuana and Hemp Museum, situated appropriately in the "Green Light District." Between museum visits, we will have lunch at the Petit-Restaurant de Rozenboom.
The Amsterdam Tulip Museum, located in a historic canal house on the Prinsengracht, is dedicated to the rich and surprising story of the tulip, The Netherlands' most famous flower.
Following our museum visit, we will enjoy an a la carte, traditional Dutch lunch at the Petit-Restaurant de Rozenboom (Little Rose Bush) in their rustic and charming Dutch interior with wooden tables and vintage Delft Blue plates.
Following lunch, we will tour the Hash Marihuana and Hemp Museum and Gallery, located in two separate canal houses on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal. We will explore cannabis and hemp from cultivation to consumption, ancient rituals to modern medicine, fashion to sustainability. Every application of cannabis throughout global history is represented in this unique museum. (Note: Marihuana vapors are evident at the museum as a result of a vaporizing room located on the premises.)
We will meet at 9 AM in front of Starbucks at The Hague Central Station, then travel by non-stop train departing at 9:19 AM to Amsterdam Central Station, arriving at 10:10 AM. We will walk from Amsterdam Central Station to The Amsterdam Tulip Museum (20 minutes), and then to the restaurant (20 minutes). Following lunch, we will walk to the Hash Marihuana and Hemp Museum (10 minutes), and then return to Amsterdam Central Station via foot (20 minutes) for our return train to The Hague Central Station.
