Come watch the Prinsjesdag Parade
while enjoying a delicious lunch!
Prince's Day (Prinsjesdag) is the traditional start of the parliamentary year. On the third Tuesday in September, the King will deliver the Speech from the Throne in which the government announces its most important plans for the coming year.
Prior to the reading of the Speech from the Throne, the King and Queen will travel in the Glass Carriage from Noordeinde Palace to the Royal Theatre, where the Speech will take place. Besides members of the Royal Family, the procession comprises other horse-drawn carriages carrying officers of the Royal Household and dignitaries, mounted police, bands and various army units.
The pomp and circumstance of the royal procession offers an impressive display, and we will have wonderful views of it during our lunch at Garuda. With its perfect location on the parade route, Garuda provides an excellent vantage point from its first-floor dining area, which features expansive picture windows enabling a perfect viewing opportunity.

Cost: Garuda will serve us a set lunch menu for €69 per person. The menu will be:
- A welcoming glass of cava
- Starter: Pangsit Goreng, crispy wonton w/pork and spicy ginger sauce
- Main Course: Rijsttafel Agus, an assortment of delicious dishes
- Dessert: a tasting selection of sorbet
PLEASE BE AWARE:
It is critical that you arrive at the restaurant on time. Many streets will be closed and trams and buses in the centrum are suspended by 11:30. Public transportation to Den Haag Central should be fine up until 11:00 and it is only a 10 minute walk from there. Please note that barriers will be set up on the streets along the parade route and pedestrian crossings will only be in certain locations. Those pedestrian crossings will close at 11:30.
