  Mahjong, a popular tile-based game of Chinese origin, is somewhat similar to the card game, Rummy.  Be prepared for a game of strategy and luck that will quickly become addictive!  We will begin with an introduction of the basic rules and hands, so even after the group is established, beginners can join and learn while playing. We will play the international version with 144 tiles with no scoring. 

  Please join us as this game is simply good fun.

  The AWC is open to all crafters, so get creative! If you’ve been looking for an open space large enough to lay out that king-size quilt, or need more table space to organize your photo albums or scrapbooks, or just need an excuse to stitch, pack up those supplies and bring them to the Clubhouse so you can chat with fellow AWC Members and visitors and enjoy some coffee while you work. You might even be able to pick up some suggestions from a fresh pair of eyes.

  No need to register, just show up when your schedule allows. We are glad to have you whenever you can make it.

  Special crotchet workshops on 25th February and 11th March.

  The AWC Book Clubs are open to all readers. The Evening Book Club meets at 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month (with some exceptions) at the AWC Clubhouse.

  Daytime Book Club

  The AWC Book Clubs are open to all readers. The Daytime Book Club meets from 10am - 12pm on the fourth Thursday of every month (with a few exceptions) at the AWC Clubhouse. 

  Whether you come once, twice or every month, stop by for a great book discussion. One member of the Book Group shares a snack and leads the discussion and the AWC provides coffee. Please join us!

• Heart Pillows 2025

  Members work together to make heart-shaped pillows designed to help support the arms of recent mastectomy patients. Each pillow is made with tender loving care, wrapped in a plastic bag tied with a beautiful bow and a message signed by a volunteer. No sewing skills are needed; just the ability to cut, stuff or wrap! What a wonderful way to meet new friends while contributing to a worthy cause. The emails we receive are so touching and show that women are linked everywhere to this terrible disease. We are proud to provide women with something not only practical, but comforting as well. If you can cut fabric, stuff fiberfill, thread a needle or tie a bow, we need you!

  No registration needed, just show up when your schedule allows. We are glad to have you whenever you can make it.
